Osmium (from the greek: osmos = smell),is the densenst metal (together with Iridium).
With a specific weight of 22.66g/cm3 this platinum group metal is heaver than gold or Uranium. In powder form it oxidizes slowly in air to form the highly toxic OsO4.
Only in solid form it can be handled safely.
