We are excited to introduce the world’s first complete set of Rare Earth Doped Glass Samples, exclusively available here. This unique collection comprises 16 distinct ingots, each crafted from phosphate glass doped with 17 mol% rare earth oxides and potassium oxide, offering a vibrant display of colors and properties.
Among the highlights of this set are the magnetic properties exhibited by the ingots doped with elements like Erbium (Er), Terbium (Tb), Gadolinium (Gd), and Dysprosium (Dy). These rare earth elements are known for their significant magnetic moments, making the glass not only visually striking but also fascinating for studies in magnetism.
Under UV excitation, some of the ingots like Europium and Terbium glass show extremely high fluorescence. Others, like Samarium, Thulium and Dysprosium show weaker fluorescence due to optical quenching effects.
