Glass bead doped with 1% Samarium(III) oxide – NEW! Orange fluorescence!
Size about 10mm – weight ~ 1g
Nice optical glass bead. Each one handmade in our lab. Strong fluorescence with a peak @ 597nm

White at normal light
Red Orange under ultraviolet light (money checker etc.)

Please do not use common UV LEDs, they produce wavelengths above 390 nm and are not suitable! Blacklight tubes work best! The UV lamp used for the photos has a wavelength of 365nm
