Only such material can reach the theoretical density of 16.65g/cm3 and are very rare and practically only available here! Compared to the arc-melting method the tantalum is heated up by fast electrons in ultra high vacuum. Most impurities just evaporate.
Electron beam melting is expensive, but the pieces are really unique!
